I, for one, can testify that the lid is very heavy steel, so this is one strong bear. Larry also reported that scat found in the area is loaded with manzanita berries and recommends that staff avoid the manzanita thickets close to the eastern CHARA telescopes at night when this guy is likely to be gorging himself.
