Nice pictures. I think alot of what you saw burned on Mt. Wilson near the buildings and the base of the trees is from back burns they set for preventative measures?

yeah I guess that makes better sense. I guess they burned up the base of trees just enough to cover the height of chaparral that could move the fire?

Im still worried about that pink spot Confused looks like continuing down the ridge from that point will be challenging..it burnt all the way south of pk5000 as well so maybe from the bottom looks to be the way...there just is no easy way to the peak!

yeah, up the trail to the toll road, then up trail to parking lot. up around 10:30

got up to MANZANITA ridge about 8:55. 10 mins later 4 meetupers show up and say they are part of Ze's MT wilson lollipop so i followed them for an extra 5mi & 3000ft gain.......

Worked out wonderfully Rolling Eyes
