We did our standard Baldy hike yesterday: up the Ski Hut trail and down the backbone. There was a lot of haze. So, the views were not that good.
The moon was setting behind the bowl.
Some of the Sheep Fire burn area was visible. Here gray ash is surrounded by red fire retardant.
The green dot on the dirt road is a vehicle, but I can't make out what exactly it is - probably forest service.
Here is a wider view in the same direction. The ridge in the back looks burned.

Hi Richard,
I saw you as my group was coming down. Nice to see you, next time I'll introduce myself. Since I never met you I didn't know your name. You just missed our big group, lucky you....nice pics..Ran into Shin as well as we were going up he was coming down.

I wonder how many times group members pass each other on the trail without realizing it. I remember your group. We will have to introduce ourselves next time.
