Two friends and I made a quick jaunt through Middle Fork of Lytel Creek yesterday
The weather was ideal, cool and cloudy until we dropped into the canyon, warmish and sunny in the canyon. Cool breezes on the way out!
WOW don't think I could have asked for better weather
We left the trailhead at 7:30am and returned at 1:00pm
Too bad Claudia has to head back to Arizona

Good looking stuff. Don't suppose there's a way for us non-canyoneering folks to get to that falls? _________________ Hiking? Aw, gee, do I have to? |

Oh Yeah
You can hike to the base of the lower falls...
There has been a crowd there 2 out of the 3 times I've done this canyon
It's way nicer than Bonita w/o the graffiti, trash and tourons

Matt | Cool. It looks from the map on Dankat like the falls are near "Third Crossing" camp, yes? A bit of a hike for non-hikers, but not too bad (I like taking such to falls; seems to get their mind off of the hiking bit). I recall some sections of that trail up the Middle Fork are pretty steep. _________________ Hiking? Aw, gee, do I have to? |

There's not much shade until you get to the wilderness boundary, that's why Saturday was sooo nice...
Nothing I'd call steep until you start ascending beyond the camp
As to the "Third Stream Crossing" camp, I generally exit right near the spring that is flowing on the trail 100 or so yards before the camp
There are a couple spots you'll have to scramble up in the canyon but I've see plenty of scouts and a couple with an infant there.
