Do you see the green in those photos????
Do you see it?
The critters, if they escaped, could move back in there!
And the green...and the water....
Enough to make this fauna nut hyperventilate...

Yes yes! I suspect this was the case.
it is good... some of the critters have and will survive... life will find a way!

Re: Somewhat encouraging news from Arroyo Seco Hallelujah!!
I was hoping a few "pockets of green" would survive. Unlike the brush above, riparian plants have a lot of water content.
lol. From the photos, I can see that people are taking the forest closure seriously. Well, actually that's city of Pasadena there, isn't it. Hmm. Mt. Lukens is City of Los Angeles. Monrovia Canyon is City of Monrovia. Mt. Wilson trail is City of Sierra Madre. Closure smosure! We don't need no stinkin' closure!

I didn't see any indication that the Monroe Truck Trail was closed though I guess that's considered "East." Didn't they say the entire ANF was closed until Station is extinguished? | Everything east of Hwy 14 is closed in the ANF.
What I was saying is that there are "fingers" poking into the National Forest Lands that belong to cities like LA, Pasadena, Monrovia, etc. Those might be open for hiking sooner than the ANF.

Even the Garcia trailhead on Sierra Madre Blvd at fire station 97 in Glendora is taped off. I don't think that a hiker gets into USFS property until he or she is on the ridge.

I noticed that was taped off a while ago. WTF?

The local cities were asked by the USFS to close the trailheads in their respective jurisdictions. I'd suspect that they've all complied.
