I was skeptical when news media made statements about the San Gabriel Wilderness had no fire history going back 100 years

This is for the most part not true

There are small areas that have no recorded fires but it has all burned ar one time or another, some multiple

Well it looks like its all going to burn now. The fires is hot in there as of Friday 9/4/09. More than likely it will burn up the south face of Waterman and burn Twin Peaks as well.
Yes, kiss the forest goodbye. We will not see it return in our lifetime.
