Light weight gaters

Does anyone know where to find some light wieght gaters? Spandex kinda thing?

Thanks in advance

REI often has "desert gaiters", going for $30 or so I think. I didn't have the $$$ at the time... but they'd be worth it.

Light nylon, so they wouldn't do so hot against real bushwhacking over a season, or so I think. They are about 9-10 inches high, I think. I think I think I think.

Outdoor Research also sells them, the Bug-Off(?) and Flex-Tex(?).  Around $30-$35 retail.

I've got a pair of the REI desert gaiters.  They work great if you're traveling through sandy, pebbly, or slightly snowy area.  For full-on winter conditions or nasty-azz bushwhacking you'd do better with a pair of full length gaiters.

These people sell spandex type gators in  every color and print you can image. they were like $12 when i bought some a few years ago. they aren't water proof, but they keep the pebbles and sand out. They are good for basic on-trail travel. http://www.dirtygirlgaiters.com/job.html

REI has several types.  The large type for winter mountaineering, and the lighter summer type.

They have two lighweight types inlcuding the spandex type.  I have both lightweight types and prefer the spendex type when wearing shorts.  They fit closer to the leg and don't look so large.  They work great when wearing lightweight hiking shoes or trail runners.

Those are some crazy a$$ patterns and colors.  Here's some that are a little less "out there".
