Hastings Peak & Jones Peak: 10-25-2009Hiked up Bailey Canyon to Hastings and Jones Peaks. Trail is in its usual good condition with signs of recent maintenance. I think canyon cleanup was last weekend. There is a new firebreak on the ridge that connects Jones Peak to Hastings Peak and on to the Mt. Wilson Toll Road. Actually, I think they just cleared the old one that was probably put in during the 1993 fire.Pics. The old view ( Dec. '08 ) from rock circle on ridge looking towards Hastings Peak...

did u see where the other fire break by the telephone poles starts?
The more interesting thing is that most of these fire break on these small mountains were bull dozed! How i have no idea |
