Halloween on the Summit of San Gorgonio

See simonov's Sleep on the Summit of Mt San Gorgonio Halloween Lollipop ..

Headed up at 7am as a group of seven via South Fork to Dollar Lake and along the Jepson ridge route.
Reached the summit at 3:40pm and setup camp.

Temps only went down to 35F with very mild wind and a beautiful full moon.
We had a little Halloween party with wine, cookies, kitkat and recess cups.
It was a long 13 hour night from sunset at 6pm to sunrise at 5:56am, plus an extra hour for the end of daylight savings.

Couple of pix:

Snowcreek within grasp!

Halloween madness ..

My pics aren't up yet, but will be here later this week.

But this summit panorama gives an idea of how clear the air was on Sunday morning:

Pan looking west and southwest from Mt San Gorgonio

The summit is my favorite trail camp in the San Gorgonio Wilderness.  It's just a little challenging to get to.

It was 13 miles down via Dry Lake, a pretty long haul for me and hard on my feets.  I was glad to see the parking lot.

BTW, the guy at the right in the group shot above is Sharo.  He is 66 years old and this is his third backpack trip.  He did great.

Halloween

Nice Trip Simonov, Taco and company.

Did any of the Bighorn Sheep come up for breakfast? Very Happy

How about other hikers from the Vivian Side?

Who won best costume this year?

And since Taco was the Russian this year, did he remember the "Vodka"? Shocked
TacoDelRio

We all forgot our booze. Sad
Zach

very nice photo... was that taken with a tripod and long exposure?
TacoDelRio

How would you know about my tripod, Zach?  Laughing

I put it on a rock next to me, long exposure.

Finally got all the pics up last night.

I was hoping Hikin' Jim could take a moment from diaper duty to see if he could shed any light on this:
