Crotalus, Throop PeakI hiked from Islip Saddle to Baden-Powell and back today, and saw this cutie on the eastern slope of Throop. It was rather docile and didn't get at all excited as I got progressively closer to get these shots.

Those are some pretty cool shots of the rattlesnake. I like how she dug herself a little burrow to lay in.

This snake may be getting ready to shed.
Eggs? They are ovoviviparous, so basically they have live-born young.
