Cedar Canyon from Thunder to IHCHikeUp and I are going to descend Cedar Canyon from Thunder Mtn down to Icehouse Canyon this Saturday (discovery hike, cross-country). We're going to start really early to beat the heat. If you're interested, PM for details. |

That canyon SUCCCCCKKKKKKSSSSS in snow... wear some protection from thorns!!!! Alex and I did it... we both got a bit scratched up, though my very clumsy self fell a bit more I think.
Not a fun way home. |

Dudley had it right, stay high and on the south side of the canyon as you near the bottom of the upper part of the cyn.
Tim and I made it down with only a couple of minor scratches (I led us too far down on the north side of the canyon when I should have switched to the south side  ). Hopefully Tim will file a TR (he has a good gps track of the route I think) and I'll add some pics later.
