Arc'teryx Veilance collectionAnyone see this yet? Arc'teryx is dabbling in fashion - they've got a Fall '09 collection with a few jackets, shirts, sweaters, pants, and a couple tees. I guess the concept is making casual/business-dress clothes and outerwear using technical fabrics, coatings, and features. The mark-ups are pretty insane - their "Field Jacket" is a Gore-tex Pro Shell; it's pretty slick looking, but not $1000 slick.
The blazer is pretty rad, though.

Does it have kevlar in it so that he can knock away the rockfall on his ascents?

There's no kevlar in it (yet). That will be in the 2011 catalog.
I actually bought a couple of there short sleeve shirts (Envoy and Motiv) and there grifter short and two casual pants. They are on the expensive side, but they fit very well. I was able to get these items on one of there specials, otherwise I never would have been able to afford there clothes.
This jacket however, is way over priced. For $1000? No way worth it.

Funny you should mention that - the "Stealth" shirt and pants are a poly/kevlar blend.
