After yet another white knuckle bike ride to Griffith Park, I had the privilege of watching a young Osprey feed for at least 10 minutes along the LA River Bike Path, N of Los Feliz and S of Colorado today.  It just kept circling around and dive bombing in front of me.  Absolutely awesome!!

Very Happy

I live next to the Santa Ana River and we have Osprey visit often.  On this shot I am 100 yards away; hidden (I thought) beneath a patio cover.

I think it was a young inexperienced male.
The fishing technique was more hit and miss than honed technique.

Very nice! I see them several times a year along the 605 freeway/San Gabriel River area and into the Santa Fe Dam.

So I returned at the same time today with a camera.  No Osprey.

Just a few Great Blue Herons, Egrets, a Red Shouldered Hawk,
2 Kingfishers, a Night Heron, and a bunch of Cormorants, Mallards, etc, etc.
Yawn...
